ABOUT THE STAFF

Suzie Showalter

Owner and Main Advocate

 As a special education teacher of over 20 years, Suzie is well versed in the complex terminology, timelines and varying options available in education to advocate for the best possible outcome for your child's education. Developed and chaired over 500 IEP's, GIEP's, and 504 documents and meetings.  In addition she has been on the other side as a parent possessing a unique understanding to both sides of the party and will make the process as easy as possible through her education, experience and passion.

Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in both Elementary and Special Education from Mansfield University, she went on to earn her Masters of Career Technology at Concordia University. She has over 20 years of Special Education teaching experience in Bucks County, both private and public schools. Working as a teacher in Regular Education, Co-Teaching, Resource Special Education Teacher, Specialized Reading Programs, Intervention Specialist, Developmental Kindergarten Teacher, and Life Skill Teacher, Suzie proficient in all areas of Education. Some of the many disabilities, syndromes and disorders Suzie has encountered throughout her experience include ADHD, Anxiety, Auditory Processing, Autism Spectrum, Cognitive Disabilities, Colorblindness, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Epilepsy, Hard of Hearing, Hearing Impaired, Migraines, Muscular Dystrophy, Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Selective Mutism, Tourette Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury, and rare Disorders/Syndromes such as CHARGE syndrome and MeCP2,  Prior to these experiences, Suzie taught preschool from ages 3 to 6 for over 10 years. Throughout her teaching experience, she has written over 20 grants to benefit her students in their educational setting. Providing a safe, fun, and family oriented atmosphere where learning takes place in the classroom are the same aspects Suzie wants to provide for families and their children.
